Greetings!

My name is Michael Stone and I am the Pastor of Children and Youth at Crossroads Community Church.

I was raised in the small northern BC town of Telkwa where I learned to appreciate mountains and small town community life.  A year after finishing highschool I headed off to Summit Pacific College where I graduated in 2010 with a B.A. in Religion majoring in Intercultural Studies.  I love the outdoors and doing things like hiking, hunting and camping.  I also enjoy a variety of sports such as soccer, hockey, skiing (both the vertical and horizontal varieties), and golf.

I firmly believe in family connections and intergenerational interaction as strong threads that hold communities and churches together.  I am passionate about helping children and youth learn to know God and grow in an environment where they are valued for who they are while they develop their unique God given skills and gifts as valuable members of their church community.

The Christian life is often compared to a journey; I like to think of it as a hiking journey to the top of a mountain.  Climbing a mountain is full of variety and challenges, there are pleasant valleys filled with wildflowers, but also jagged rocks that you must clamber over as you climb.  However, the whole trip is worth it once you begin to glimpse the magnificent view from the top.  Suddenly the pain in your legs is forgotten as you take in the majesty of God’s creation.  I think the Christian life is comparable to this hiking journey; there will be good times and bad times, yet at the end of the journey it will all fade into the background as we are overwhelmed with the majesty of God.  This realization has changed my outlook on life and I invite you to experience a church community where your life too can be changed!

Blessings,

Michael Stone
